Benefits
About the role
Are you knowledgeable about IT infrastructures, able to maintain a clear overview even when dealing with different technologies, and eager to drive projects forward independently?
As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing development of our international IT infrastructure. Your focus will be on IT security and firewalls, while also working as a technical all-rounder on a wide variety of infrastructure topics and projects.
You don’t need to be able to configure every technology down to the last detail yourself. What’s important is that you understand technical concepts, can evaluate solutions, and provide technical guidance to both internal and external specialists.
- You will take on IT infrastructure and security projects and further develop them in collaboration with our IT team.
- A key focus of your work will be on IT security, firewalls, and the continuous improvement of our security levels and IT resilience.
- You will assume technical responsibility for projects and subprojects—from conception and coordination through to implementation.
- Currently, you can look forward to exciting projects related to the IT integration of new international company locations.
- You’ll work with internal and external experts to further develop our hybrid infrastructure. This includes, among other things, Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware / vSphere, networking, VPN, endpoint security, and backup & recovery.
- You’ll manage and coordinate our external IT security and technology partners, evaluate proposed solutions, and work with them to ensure a smooth technical implementation.
- Together with our experts, you’ll translate insights from security assessments and regular penetration tests into concrete improvement measures.
- You’ll analyze and resolve complex technical escalations and develop sustainable solutions.
- You will continuously refine our IT security standards, documentation, and processes.
- You will leverage automation and AI tools wherever they make our work better and more efficient. If you’d like to develop your own tools, scripts, or agents for this purpose, you’ll have the freedom to do so.
About you
- You have extensive professional experience in IT infrastructure and systems engineering—ideally around 8–10 years or comparable relevant experience.
- You have a solid understanding of IT security, firewall, and network concepts, and can evaluate technical solutions and their implications.
- You are familiar with modern hybrid IT infrastructures and have experience in several of the following areas: Microsoft 365, Azure / Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware / vSphere, networking, VPN, endpoint security, or backup & recovery.
- You don’t need to be an expert in all of these technologies. What’s important to us is that you understand the big picture, ask the right questions, and can provide technical guidance to specialists.
- You have experience with IT infrastructure or security projects and enjoy taking responsibility for your own tasks and projects.
- You work independently and in a structured manner, contribute your own ideas, and make well-informed technical decisions within your area of responsibility.
- Experience with PowerShell, automation, or AI-powered tools is a plus—but what matters more to us is your willingness to make effective use of new opportunities.
- You communicate confidently in German and English and enjoy working with internal and external contacts in an international environment.
